A total of 37 students of Health Ministry of Health Polytechnic (Polytechnic Kemenkes) Palembang doing Field Work Practice (PKL) in six villages in Sungai Pinang subdistrict Ogan Ilir regency (OI) for six months.
In this activity, students in charge of conducting appropriate nutrition programs so that managed to make a statement, among others, is still a lack of knowledge of mothers about nutrition and health of infants, toddlers suspected of suffering from malnutrition, was found toddler energy intake lower than the recommended dietary allowance rates according to age and gender.
In this activity, street vendors also perform nutritional intervention through the Village Community Council (MMD) by providing nutrition counseling to the community. In addition they conduct nutrition training of cadres, cadres posyandu quiz competitions, competitions healthy menus, healthy competition and exhibition toddler nutrition.
Related counseling, student conduct nutrition and health education in six villages in the subdistrict of Sungai Pinang which followed 227 participants with material covering pregnant women nutrition, balanced, and exclusive breastfeeding and the elderly as well as the role posyandu kolestrum.
Of the 53 cadres who are spread in six villages of Sungai Pinang District, 36 cadres require refreshment of knowledge of nutrition and health. In regard to the cadre of nutrition and health, constraints encountered a lack of training and skills of the cadres, less active and the consciousness of the cadres in the following training activities, and less strategic location and venue.
To evoke the spirit of cadres, students PKL conducting quiz competitions, so it becomes the motivation of cadres to improve knowledge about nutrition and health. Then the race healthy menu that aims to make people follow the example and apply knowledge about the importance of eating nutritious food.
Further activities under five healthy competition that aims to make people motivated to improve their knowledge after a toddler who's right, knowing the child's growth is good and civilize a child's weight regularly.
Sungai Pinang subdistrict head, represented by the Secretary District (Sekcam) Saryani on the occasion of the release of 37 polytechnic students Kemenkes Palembang street vendors say, is very grateful to have had the honor of execution of street vendors in six villages in Sungai Pinang subdistrict thereby increasing public knowledge about the importance of nutrition and health.
